MSM (Methylsulphonylmethane)
MSM (Methylsulphonylmethane) is a natural form of organic sulfur found in all
living organisms. This natural compound, researched since 1979, provides
the chemical links needed to form and maintain numerous different types of tissues
found in the human body, including connective tissue such as articular cartilage.
Allergy & MSM: The anti-inflammatory action attributed
to MSM means it is recommended for a range of respiratory tract
allergies including pollen allergies, allergic asthma, allergic
rhinities, sinusitis, food and environmental allergies.
GI Health & MSM: MSM has beneficial effects on the
gastro-intestinal tract, reducing recurrent heartburn and
alleviating chronic constipation. Also Inflammatory bowel disorders
Joint Pain & MSM: MSM appears to reduce pain by
inhibiting the transmission of pain messages by nerves and is
particularly beneficial for:
muscle pain and athletic injuries
carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis, bursitis
oseteo & rheumatoid arthritis
lupus & fibromyalgia
TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) pain Sulphur inhibits the
enzymes that lead to cartilage destruction and helps build and
ensure the integrity of connective tissues. Patients with arthritis,
and particularly OA, have been shown to have lower than normal
concentrations of serum sulphate and synovial sulphur levels.
According to a preliminary report, a double-blind trial in people
with osteoarthritis found that MSM, in the amount of 2,250 mg per
day, reduced pain after six weeks.
Skin Health & MSM: Sulphur has long been known as 'the
beauty mineral' because it provides nutritional support for the
production of collagen, and as such MSM is highly regarded for its
cosmetic results, including
softer, healthier skin
shiny hair and strong nails
gum disease and gingivitis
scar tissue and keloids
