This Omega-3 Fish Oil Concentrate is manufactured under strict quality control and is screened to ensure the absence of potentially harmful contaminants. It is derived from concentrated fish oils of salmon, sardines, anchovies, and mackerel.
There are two Omega-3 fatty acids found in concentrated fish oil and each serving tpically contains:
eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) 360mg
docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) 240mg
Omega Oils: Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) Western diets contain very little omega-3, not only because we do not eat adequate amounts of oily fish but because hydrogenation, the process used to give foods a long shelf life, removes them.
This process also inhibit the body's conversion of omega-6 to GLA and CLA. In addition,
changes in farming practices have meant that meat and dairy products contains less plant omegas 3 and 6.
Omega 3 EFAs have been the subject of a multitude of scientific studies showing that they not only promote cardiovascular health, but also mood and cognition, as well as skin conditions.
Omega 6 EFAs are involved in a complex interaction that leads to the production of prostoglandins in the body. The body uses prostoglandins to control inflammation, dilate blood vessels and regulate immune function.
Omega 9 is a monounsaturated fat not considered essential but it does play beneficial roles in human health
