Glucosol™
(to be renamed GlucoTrim)
Glucosol™ is made with Crepe Myrtle (
Lagerstroemia speciosa L.), a tree native to Southern Asia. It is also known as banaba leaves.
Corosolic acid is the triterpenoid active ingredient of Glucosol.
Glucosol & Diabetes: Studies at the Southeastern Institute of Biomedical Research (1999) indicated that Glucosol™ may be a viable herbal alternative to
conventional drugs in treating Type II Diabetes. The active ingredient of Glucosol, corosolic acid,
was effective in reducing blood glucose levels with no adverse effects. The subjects
had a mild case of insulin independent diabetes (type II), were unable to tolerate glucose
burden, were older than 46 years of age and possessed glucose levels of more than 150 mg/deciliter (fasting level.)
The results indicated that the higher the daily dose of Glucosol, the greater the drop in blood glucose levels.
Glucosol & Energy: Glucosol™ serves as a glucose transport stimulator
and can help cells acquire additional energy. Recent research suggests that body levels of glucose
also improve memory performance.
Glucosol & Weight Loss: Researchers (1999) also studied the effects of corosolic acid in
balancing blood glucose levels and weight-loss
in normal volunteer subjects. Weight loss was achieved without the use of a regulated diet or an exercise program.
The transient hypoglycemia suggested that Glucosol could lower blood sugar,
causing a natural release of the hormone glucagon. Glucagon stimulates the break down of
fat cells to free fatty acids. In addition reduction in blood sugar levels helps prevent fat storage. Caution: Those predisposed to hypoglycemia (too little sugar or widely fluctuating sugar levels) should avoid taking Glucosol
