Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALC)
Acetyl-L-Carnitine is a stabilized form of the amino acid metabolite L-Carnitine. ALC plays an important role in
the transfer and utilization of long-chain fatty acids for the production of energy, with the greatest amounts being found in muscles, the brain and in the testicles.
ALC has been studied for its potential use in slowing, and even partially reversing, nerve and brain
deterioration associated with the ageing process. Since levels of this nutrient decline with age, supplementation is key
to receive adequate amounts. May be used for:
Anti-ageing (especially when combined with Alpha Lipoic Acid)
Memory, attention span and mental performance
ALC has also been studied for its uses in:
Athletic performance
Energy enhancement
Sperm nutrition
